I am One of a Kind
My name is Maria João Rebelo, I was born and raised in St. Miguel Island of the Azores archipelago, Portugal, situated in the far west of Europe. I was 13 years old when I learned to embroider CROSS STITCH and fell in love with it. I haven’t stopped since. I immigrated to Canada in 1991 where I reside for over 30 years. I was introduced to sewing by my mother at a young age and along with it I learned basic knitting and crochet.
My Story
I have a passion for crafts, all kinds, from seashell work to painting ladybugs out of a can.
My favourite crafts are baby quilts, I love putting together little squares of beautiful prints and images and colours.
My work is never the same, placing of fabric and colours change all the time. Images are unique and I offer a personalized touch with a baby’s name if require on either the embroidered blankets or crochet.

I work a lot with recyclable materials, not much goes to waste. Easter eggs are made with papier maché, painted inside and out, ideal for special occasions. Filled up with surprises from candy to little toys. Never the same filling, never the same look, even size may vary, simply ONE OF A KIND.

I have created lovely things for my two daughters, but my granddaughter became my biggest inspiration, I would like to share this LOVE with all of you.
